Jimmie Johnson, the three-time reigning Nascar Sprint Cup champion, had surgery to repair a tendon and a nerve in his left middle finger after cutting himself with a kitchen knife Sunday. Johnson said in a statement that the injury was above the knuckle and that it happened while he was preparing for the final segment of the Rolex 24 sports car race. Johnson was attempting to customize his firesuit by cutting a small hole.
