Elliott Sadler, currently 11th in the Sprint Cup Series championship standings, commended Las Vegas Motor Speedway for adding SAFER barriers to the inside wall on the backstretch, a response to the violet wreck Jeff Gordon suffered last year.

LAS VEGAS – Five NASCAR Sprint Cup Toyota teams have had to change engines this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and four of them are because of a similar Toyota Racing Development engine issue.

Can we please be real?
All this talk about a NASCAR driver hopping into a Formula One car and suddenly delivering the world its first American-bred F1 star since Mario Andretti is ludicrous.
Putting Kyle Busch or any other NASCAR driver (with the obvious exception of Juan Pablo Montoya and Scott Speed) behind the wheel of the newly announced USF1 team would be 90 percent novelty and 10 percent pure optimism.

Sunday’s Shelby 427 Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is all about Matt Kenseth, and why shouldn’t it be? Kenseth has a shot at making history. He won the first two races of the season, and no driver has ever won the first three races of a Cup season (or Nationwide or Trucks, for that matter).
